Fifty years ago, Eastwood made his debut as a director in Play Misty for Me; 39 more films followed under his direction, which got Eastwood to take recognition as one of the most phenomenal directors in the history of Hollywood. As an actor, he had a breakthrough for his role in the TV program Rawhide. He plummeted to stardom by his degree of acting in Westerns and the Dirty Harry franchise. Eastwood received high praise for directing Academy-award-winning films like Unforgiven, Mystic River, and Million Dollar Baby.
