Robin Roberts
Known as the anchor of ABC’s Good Morning America, Robin Roberts grew up in Mississippi and graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in communications in 1983. She went on to work for a small Mississippi television station as a sports reporter and anchor. Roberts started hosting ESPN’s Sportscenter at the age of 29 and appeared as a guest correspondent on Good Morning America not long after.
Alongside her success, Roberts would also find love in the form of Amber Laign in 2005. Mutual friends arranged for the pair to meet on a blind date in 2005. They kept their relationship a secret until Robin came out as gay in 2013. In July 2020, the pair celebrated their 15th anniversary. The anchor posted photographs from their day on Instagram at the time, including one of the generous gifts she had given Amber: a collection of personalized crystal champagne glasses and a bottle of champagne.
